Rev. Fr. G. Peter Rajendiram was born on 26th November 1956 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, to devoted parents, Mr. A.R. George and Mrs. G. Theresammal. He was baptized on 11th December 1956 at the Holy Redeemer’s Church in Trichy, marking the start of a journey defined by deep faith and commitment to serving the community. Fr. Peter Rajendiram’s spiritual roots and parish affiliation are connected to Christ the King & St. Xavier’s, Villupuram, within the Diocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore.
Fr. Peter Rajendiram’s educational journey was a path of dedication and growth. His foundational schooling began at Rosary Church School in Madurai from 1962 to 1965 (1st to 3rd standards). He continued his education at M.R.I.C. in Villupuram from 1965 to 1970 (4th to 8th standards) and later completed his high school education at St. Joseph’s School in Cuddalore (9th to 11th standards) from 1970 to 1973. After finishing school, he pursued higher studies at Arulanandar College in Karumathur, Madurai, where he earned his Pre-University Certificate and B.Sc. degree from 1974 to 1978. He had completed his post graduate in Mathamatics and Sociology. He further earned Master of Philosophy in Education from Madurai Kamaraj University.
In 1970, Fr. G. Peter Rajendiram began his seminary formation at St. Agnes’ Seminary in Cuddalore, where he completed his Latin course alongside his school studies from 10th to 11th standards. He continued his higher education and philosophical education at Christ Hall Seminary in Karumathur from 1974 to 1980, where he further enriched his academic background with degrees in Philosophy (B.A.). Following his seminary studies, he undertook his Regency period at St. Joseph’s Hostel in Tiruppapuliyur from 1980 to 1981. His formal theological studies were completed at St. Peter’s Seminary in Bangalore from 1981 to 1985.
Fr. Peter Rajendiram was ordained as a priest on 17th May 1985 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Pondicherry. The ordination was ordained by Most Rev. Dr. V.S. Selvanather, marking the commencement of Fr. Rajendiram’s profound journey in pastoral service and education.
Throughout his service, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Rajendiram has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to education and pastoral care.
